Why 80% of women have asymmetric breasts and no one talks about it

It’s a topic that almost no one addresses. A topic that’s considered taboo. A topic that’s minimized. And yet, it affects the majority of women. When I created my brand, I was surprised to discover that I was far from being alone in having asymmetric breasts. Around 80% of women have breast asymmetry. Did you know that ? And yet, we are still being sold perfectly symmetrical, standardized bras designed for bodies that don’t actually exist. Because I can assure you : real breasts have different shapes, different heights, and different volumes from one side to the other.

The myth of the symmetrical body
Even Aphrodite had asymmetric breasts
For as long as we can remember, we’ve been shown “perfect” bodies. But nature is not symmetrical. Not our eyebrows, not our feet, and certainly not our breasts.
This asymmetry is not a flaw. It’s a biological reality.
And yet, how many of us have felt discomfort, shame, insecurity, or a sense of being “abnormal” because of it?
The silence around breast asymmetry : today, we talk about it and normalize it
We talk about it very little. Far too little. Because it’s intimate. Because it affects self-image. So we adapt. We accept uncomfortable bras. We squeeze ourselves in. We twist and contort.
But this has to change. And it has to change now. So who’s betting on us? Who’s betting on Asymétrio the new lingerie brand that’s breaking the rules ?
Asymétrio was born from this reality : Why 80% of women have asymmetric breasts and no one talks about it
Asymétrio wasn’t born from a marketing study. It was born from a real story. The story of Clémence, the founder, who never found a bra that truly fit her. Because nothing was designed for asymmetric breasts. But also not for very small breasts or fuller busts either. In reality, most brands only offer a limited range of standardized sizes.
So one day, I decided to stop settling. And I created what I wished had existed: a custom-made bra, adapted to my body. With a simple and intuitive system: choosing your band size independently from your right and left cup sizes. Clémence, founder of Asymétrio
Custom-made is not a luxury
Why 80% of women have asymmetric breasts and no one talks about it. For too long, custom-made has been associated with luxury and inaccessibility. Why should we suffer to be beautiful? Why should we pay a high price for a bra that doesn’t even fit us? Beauty has no single shape. Our differences make us unique. This new Asymétrio collection isn’t just a collection it’s a love letter to our bodies.
A new chapter begins
This collection also marks a turning point for the brand. We’ve changed workshops. We’ve grown. We’ve expanded internationally. We’ve restructured our production. We’ve developed new partnerships. This is a new era. And real change takes time.
